MOQ, Packaging and Container Planning for Fountain Orders
A good fountain order balances assortment breadth with carton efficiency. MOQ, master-carton quantity, dimensions and gross weight should be reviewed together before the purchase order is fixed.
Start with sell-through, not only MOQ
Estimate the number of stores, display units and replenishment requirement for each design. Ask whether mixed-model arrangements are possible, but expect feasibility to depend on production and packing.
Build a packing worksheet
Record product size, units per master carton, carton size, gross weight and fragile points. Use the supplier’s confirmed packing data for CBM planning; do not estimate a container from product dimensions alone.
Protect the commercial margin
Include samples, inspection, spare pumps or components, freight, duty and a realistic damage allowance in landed-cost calculations. Finalize artwork, marks and destination requirements before mass packing begins.
